Jaanu is a Telugu romantic drama by C. Prem Kumar based on his Tamil movie '96 bankrolled by Dil Raju on his Sri Venkateswara Creations with Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles.

C Premkumar’s Sharwanand and Samantha starrer is one of the most-awaited films, the title of which has just been announced.

The Telugu remake of the Tamil hit ‘96’, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, has been named ‘Jaanu’. Sharing the title reveal of the film on his social media, Sharwanand wrote, “A tribute to unconditional love... here's the first look of my next film, #JAANUMovieDownload.” (sic) The poster sees him as a photographer in the middle of a desert.

‘Jaanu’ will see music by Govind Vasanthan, who composed music for the original and even won awards for the same. When Samantha wrapped up the film’s shoot, she had shared her look from the film and written, “And it’s a wrap!! Another special film and a role that has challenged me to be better than I was yesterday .. blessed to work with a team that manages to create magic everyday .. Thankyou @premkumardop and #sharwanand for being my dream team .. #Janu ... living my best life ...grateful always” (sic)
